Family Wiccan Communities are groups of Family Covens that agree to have events, seminars, special guest speakers, training sessions and Sabbat celebrations together. Family Wiccan Communities can meet as frequently or infrequently as the participating Family Covens desire. Family Wiccan Communities can be as formal or informal as the group desires. An elected facilitator who is responsible for communication between FWTI and the community, oversees the day to day function of the Family Wiccan Communities.
Two or more Family Covens can form Family Wiccan Communities. The group makes application to FWTI and submits yearly dues.
Additionally, Family Wiccan Communities agree to uphold the Family Wiccan Traditions International Pledge and devote themselves to providing a real environment for pagan families to meet, grow, learn and develop their own Family Covens. In exchange, Family Wiccan Communities receive special discounts on FWTI events, seminars and workshops, as well as receiving a free web page to help promote their community and special continuing education materials available through the Family Wiccan Community site.
Family Wiccan Communities (FWC) are suggested to have a simple structure. There can be five points of service on a committee that coordinates the efforts of the FWC. It is suggested that Family Covens take turns administrating these five Points of Service, serving for one to two years. These five Points of Services (PoS) are:
Support & Resources (East)3 This Point of Service keeps a running list of things that the FWC needs and goes about trying to secure the item through donation or holds fundraisers to see that the need is meet. They also coordinating can drives and/or the Pagan Closet or other community outreach programs. The Pagan Closet is an effort where things that are no longer used by one Family Covens are recycled with another Family Coven for use. Items like clothes children out grow, old baby items and anything else that is still usable but not needed. This Point of Service also directs efforts for moving and meals to sick or injured persons in the community.
Kitchen Witching (South)3 This Point of Service coordinates organizing and providing food goods for all events where food is being served. The focus of this Point of Service is not only serving food. The focus is also serving magical food that is charged with health and blessings to those who partake in it.
Healing (West)3 This Point of Service helps the community learn how to heal their bodies, minds and spirits through wholistic and natural approaches. They are the persons who are contacted when a member is sick, injured or hospitalized. Their service includes energy work, herbal remedies, salve making, aromatherapy and healing stones. This Point of Service presents classes on wholistic health, salve making and herbal remedies, as well as, ensures that members get the wholistic help they need when sick.
Children's Grove (North)3 This Point of Service is committed to ensuring that there is time, space and activities for the Children of The Kindred. This PoS might coordinate a Spiral Scout Troup or just organize kid friendly events. They are the key PoS when it comes to Coming of Age Rites for children of the FWC.
Web Communications (Spirit)3 This Point of Service is committed to communication between Points of Service, the Family Wiccan Community members and FWTI. This PoS ensures that birthday cards, anniversary cards and special recognition is given as needed. This PoS manages communal resources like a FWC Library or FWC Herb Closet that provides loan or materials for spells or illness. This PoS sends out reminders as needed for events and are the scribes of the Family Wiccan Community.
Family Wiccan Communities (FWC) are bound together to provide a network of support for families who follow an earth based spiritual path. FWCs hold Sabbats that the entire family can enjoy and might even coordinate special adult only events complete with babysitting services so that parents can have some special time together.
They host classes, no more than 2 per month that walk participants through a 1st Degree Course of Study. This course allows participants to attend class and at the end of the program receive their 1st Degree. Typically, FWC's will work out some arrangement so that children are cared for and having a good time during these classes.
FWCs Do Not
FWC's do not hold Full Moon celebrations. However, if a Family Coven desires to host a Family Moon and invite other Family Covens to join them, that is their purgative. It is recommended by FWTI, that those events remain separated from the work that the Family Wiccan Community does.
FWC's do not give initiations past the 1st Degree.
Family Covens are family units created in a myriad of ways. From a single person developing the art and craft to share with the community or his/her future children or Student-Seekers to a blended or tradition or non-traditional family grouping, Family Covens are bound together in the belief that without intersession a person or family unit can develop a working and meaningful tradition of practice that is valid and can be of great benefit to an extended community.
Family Covens seek association with Family Wiccan Traditions International in order to take advantage of the generalized spiritual, emotional and mental training the larger tradition can provide. They seek association so that they can be connected with other families and individuals who have a belief of personal responsibility without a dogma of practice through listing on FWTIs web sites and in the traditions materials to utilization of the various on line e-list available. Some Family Covens even choose to take formal training through Family Wiccan Traditions International to improve the quality of their relationships.
Family Covens make application to FWTI and submit a yearly dues. Yearly dues of Family Covens are $35 per year and are not impacted by the number of persons within a family group. Family Covens agree to uphold the Family Wiccan Traditions International Pledge and devote themselves to providing a real spiritual environment that develops a legacy of magic for their children, themselves and their community. Family Covens receive access to the Family Wiccan Community site with their paid dues.
Degree-Seekers are receiving degree training according to the Family Wiccan Traditions International Degree Program. They are associated with a specific Family Coven that has an ordained FWTI High Priest or High Priestess. The High Priest or High Priestess is responsible for the Degree Seeker's training.
Degree-Seekers agree to abide by the Family Wiccan Traditions International Pledge. Degree-Seekers do not dedicate to FWTI, but to the Family Coven of their selected High Priest or High Priestess.
